Jules Agard is a French painter and ceramist

Born in Vallauris, Jules Agard has a reputation as one of the finest

turners of the Golden Age in the village of a hundred potters. He began his training at the age of 16 with Jérôme Massier. The apprentice learned well there, working with the many turners in the house, each specialized in a particular type of shape. In just a few years, thanks to his observational skills, young Agard became a seasoned turner.
