Biography
French ceramist, painter-cartoonist and illustrator.
Considered a great master of Aubusson tapestry, Jean Picard Le Doux has contributed to the revival of contemporary tapestry.
Born in Paris in 1902, son of painter Charles Picart Le Doux (1881-1959), young Jean Picart le Doux began working in bookbinding and publishing at the age of sixteen. Gifted for drawing, he turned to advertising in 1935. He produced posters, magazine covers and, later, postage stamp designs.
