ÉRIC LIOT
1964
Biography
Born in 1964, Eric Liot is a painter, sculptor, assembler and collagist. All these creative disciplines and techniques have established him as an accomplished artist.
His galaxy oscillates between the Campbell box and Warhol's worlds. Over the past twenty years, he has established himself as an image recuperator. Steeped in the work of Figuration Narrative artists such as Errò, Télémaque and Peter Klasen, Eric Liot, like his elders, works in the moment, drawing on images and characters from everyday life to fix our contemporary icons. We come across our favorite heroes, from Super Man to Ché, everyday consumer figures such as the Michelin Man and the Campell box, and characters from cartoons, movies and video games. The artist uses and abuses this little world to construct all kinds of singular metaphors representative of our times.
